Chris Ono elected to replace retiring Director Dave Stephenson.

On February 24, the Board accepted the resignation of Director Dave Stephenson and unanimously elected Chris Ono to take his place.  Ono has been serving on the Finance Committee since the summer of 2024 and has attended almost every Board meeting since then. Here is the statement he submitted when he agreed to be a candidate for the Board:

I have been a shareholder of Crestview Mutual Water Company since 1999 and have been a resident of Ventura County for over 30 years. I have regularly attended monthly board meetings, been an advisor to the board, done analytical and financial modeling to assist the board, and currently serve on the Finance Committee as the shareholder representative.

I have served on boards of the California Association of Nurseries & Garden Centers and Nursery Growers Association including terms as President, Vice President, and Legislative & Regulatory Chair Person. I was an Agriculture Advisor to a California State Assemblymember. I am also a California Agriculture Leadership Foundation Fellow.

I worked on numerous issues including Water Rights and Drought Restrictions. I worked with federal and state representatives, regulatory agencies and the public to forge collaborative solutions.

My professional experience includes holding various roles in Finance, Data Analytics, Transformation, and Strategic Planning. I have worked across multiple verticals that include Agriculture, Software, Energy, Manufacturing, and Education for both large ($5B) and small (Below $200M) corporations.

I am currently serving as Director of Financial Planning & Analysis and Business Intelligence for a manufacturing company that specializes in component parts for Aerospace & Defense, Medical Devices, and Semiconductors.

Every issue and challenge has its own unique nuance that needs careful consideration and analysis. I believe that each decision that is made should always protect our shareholders, continue delivering high quality water, and make us sustainable for the foreseeable future.

Dave and Kim Stephenson are planning to sell their house and move out of California this spring. In November 2025, Dave resigned as president and announced his decision not to run for reelection as a Director.
